What Black History Month means to me

Hey there guys its The DJ here & I have something that I wanted to share & for a longtime now it has alot to do with Black History Month & what it really means.

Black History is a time of celebrating our culture & the people

who've inspired & innovated

we celebrate the teachers, scientists

inventors, athletes, & the entertainers.

Though many lives might've been lost

through out the month & past years

in the end we celebrate their legacies

that were left with cheer.

Black History Month is a time to celebrate

what our culture & heritage is really all about

All lives matter so shout it out loud

Take heed to the message that I say

to the crowd no matter what goes on

I'm black & I'm proud!

Thoughts of a DJ: Tribute to Chadwick Boseman

Hey there everyone, DJ Dizzy here & I'm taking a break from the usual to speak on a serious tragedy  that of the passing of Chadwick Boseman.

For those who aren't familiar with him he was a big time movie actor who was perhaps best known for his role in the hit film Black Panther & his portrayal of Jackie Robinson in 42 he was diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2016 which was at stage 3 but then quickly went into  stage 4 within 4 years. My initial thoughts of this are absolute shock & sadness in this troubling times & he was a true talent that delivered breath taking performances in whatever role he took on & he made you want to go see whatever movie he did.

My thoughts of him as a person however he seemed to me that he had a down to earth personality & he was the kind of person that inspired many to dream but also make you believe he was perhaps best known for doing that the best with his acting abilities. He's a true talent who'll forever be loved & missed but most of all remembered for his acting & my condolences to his family for his passing.

So to him Rep, John Lewis & everyone else we lost this year rest well in paradise & of course to you Mr. Boseman Wakanda forever & for life we love & miss you!

Thoughts of a DJ: Endangerment in schools & why teachers refuse to step up

Hello everyone, DJ Dizzy here & I'm taking a break from the usual routine to speak to you about something that's seriously important that of targeting the handicapped & bullying.

I say this because earlier I was scoping out some videos & one of them involved a girl whom was autistic & fully blind & being bulled on the school bus which made her scared to go to school but the worst of it was the school refused to do anything about it & this has happened to not just her but to other people who're disabled or have been bullied altogether & its enough to ask the following question: What's the point of looking out for someone if you're not going to take things seriously or really be responsible for their safety & well being?

Just because someone has a disability doesn't mean we should see or treat them any less of a human being & it doesn't mean we shouldn't look out for them or that you should shirk responsibilities to your students just because you have authority of any kind but overall its your responsibility as a teacher, bus driver & a parent to make sure that people are treated with respect, & dignity & also make sure that they're safe that's a huge part of the job & a very important one at that but there's no real point of doing that job if you see it as a way of making money or getting perks behind it.

I say this because having gone through that myself at one time it can be very difficult since you feel like your rights are being violated & you feel like your a target because of those reasons but what's sad is no matter how much you speak up the same result comes up, either walk away & ignore it but this is something that can't really be ignored at times & you shouldn't be afraid to get involved especially since its serious.

So the main point & the bottom line of all of this is when child endanger occur in school or someone is being mistreated or abused don't just stand or sit there act on it. Keep a close watch on what kids do on the bus or anywhere else cause anything can happen & chances are it could be your kid or anyone else you know & even if you think its no biggie never be afraid to get involved we're all people & we all matter.

If you have your own thoughts on this feel free to leave some comments below. Stay awesome!

Bringing back weekend & Weekday cartoons

Hey there folks DJ Dizzy here & this time around I'm taking some time from the music scene to tell you some important info in regards to a petition that I came across & signed in support of binging back cartoons of weekends & weekdays.

DSfPbahgELVDiwF-800x450-noPad.jpg (800×450)

I've done my share of reviews on the Kids Click block & shared my thoughts on Saturday Morning cartoons on some of my other posts & i would be nice to see this work out because as I stated a number of times cartoons are a big part of everyone's childhood & everyday life & they all make us laugh after a long day of school & work & sometimes you just need a break to get away on the weekdays & weekends. (Though some of the best shows happened on Saturdays.) But anyway this
petition should give you some insight as to what this is all about & so far there's a lot of backups on it its cool if you want to sign its okay if not but anyway for those of you who want to see cartoons on the local channels again take a look & sign so until then stay awesome & rock n roll!

A question for the masses Should weekday cartoon blocks comeback?

Hello one & all DJ Dizzy here  & I'm taking a break from the music scene to ask a vey important question so give a listen.  I'm taking a poll regarding weekday morning cartoon blocks since this is in regards to the recently now departed Kids Click block which was rather enjoyable.

Now to me this really felt good to see a something like this airing on the local CW affiliate where I'm at because it brought back a little bit of childhood nostalgia  & seeing cartoons in the morning was a real treat especially in the afternoons whenever you came home from school or from work.

We all may not be kids anymore but even if you're young at heart cartoons are still fun to watch even the classics that we grew up on. Nowadays & we need something to watch whenever we wake up & come home to after a hard day at work or school because we could all use a god laugh to get us through a tough time

Also something else to think about is that cartoon blocks got their start on local channels in the beginning so without them you wouldn't have the shows that have become a huge successes that we know them as now  even if they cancelled or air in syndication.

So my main point to this is that cartoon blocks should make a comeback for both young & old because you don't have to be a kid just to enjoy a great cartoon or have a laugh every now & then.

Stay awesome!

Jem & The Holograms movie revisited

Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & a while back I did a review on the movie adaption of Jem & The Holograms to which I said isn't worth watching but after watching it for myself I've decided that its okay.

It has an interesting lesson that of finding yourself outside of the spotlight & not let people decide things for you which it strongly stresses through out the film & it also mentions that you should always be true to yourself regardless of what people think & being true to your own voice & talents.

I say this because I too was thinking it was going to be a bit like the cartoon but in some cases it sought out inspiration from the 80s classic  with some of the pics of some of the original characters & mentions of  it there were also people dressing the part of some of their favorite characters as well.

So while some of you hardcore fans might've had your hopes up in expecting the film to be like the cartoon it went in a different direction from what you were all expecting but still it turned out to be a decent film because in a way it was about being true to the music & yourself which is what music should be about. So over all this movie gets a decent pass from me.

That's  all I have to say & so until then stay awesome & rock n roll!

Thoughts of a DJ: Music & Technology

Hello everyone DJ Dizzy here & a while back I did a paper involving my thoughts regarding how technology has impacted music & though they go hand in hand there are times it an come off as too much of a gimmick  take a look & share your thoughts.

Music & Technology: Battle of Wits

As we all know music has been a part of our lives from when we were kids to the time when we grow up. You can find music everywhere and you can create music just by making instruments out of everyday appliances. That is how I was taught when I grew up. But being able to make music is much more than that, so much so, that technology, by way of electronics, has gotten involved.  The overuse of electronics in music is taking away from real artists in music and it is more about special effects than real talent in some cases.

In a recording studio, you will see the people behind it using sound and mixing boards, but nowadays people are making recordings in their own homes through computers and flash drives. So that is where the question of do we really need anything electronic to make us better musicians and singers comes in. And how much of it is too much? Supporters of technology in music may say that we do rely on it way too much when it comes to music. So much so, that you see singers and rappers using auto tune technology, be it in videos or live in concert. David Bowie predicted that the electronic technology was going to dominate the music world and change everything from within. “I don’t even know why I would want to be on a label in a few years, because I do not think it’s going to work by labels and by distribution systems in the same way. The absolute transformation of everything that we ever thought about music will take place within 10 years, and nothing is going to be able to stop it”-David Bowie (excerpt from the 2002 New York Times article “David Bowie, 21st Century Entrepreneur” by Jon Pareles) (El Gamal)

According to a CNN article that was published a while back on auto tune they had this to say regarding it, “But the jury is still out on whether Auto-Tune was a boon for the music industry, or a disaster: in 2010, Time magazine included it in the list of The 50 Worst Inventions, calling it ‘a technology that can make bad singers sound good and really bad singers sound like robots.’" (Prisco).  Some singers will sometimes rely on auto tune to help mask the sound of their singing voices by making them sound robotic or to aid their voice as they get older with age.  Some examples of this would be Cher, T Pain, and Rebecca Black. These are just a few examples of people who use auto tune. Cher, an older singer, did use auto tune in a music video to enhance her voice. (See the video ‘Believe’ for details.) T Pain also uses auto tune in some of his songs to give more of a robotic effect. He even went so far to come out with a toy microphone, complete with an auto tune setting.

There is also Rebecca Black.  She is known for that song ‘Friday,’ and she uses auto tune in her singing so much that it caused her to have just that one hit, and only one hit. The auto tune gave her singing voice more of a nasal-sounding effect which definitely did not enhance the singing experience.

However, in addition to artists using auto tune, television music shows submit to this as well. A good example is that of X Factor in which they used auto tune with most of the contestants. This was not really fair because you could not tell who was good or bad. Luckily it stopped airing.

One final example is of Britney Spears’ song “Alien”.  There are two versions on youtube.com. One is clearly marked as a “raw vocals” version and the other version does not have any commentary as to the type of singing.  There is a stark difference between the raw vocals version and her “secret” auto tune version.  It leaves one begging for Britney to always use auto tune.

But auto tune is just an example of how useful it can be; but it can be overused. Sure it is a gimmick, but there are other singers who use it for those purposes such as Peter Frampton who uses a talk box when performing (See the video “Do you feel like I do.”) Also, funk band Zapp uses auto tune for the same purposes. Check out the following songs, “Computer Love” and “More Bounce to the Ounce.”  It is okay as a gimmick but the more you use it the less it is about the music. According to Tao and Bushnell (2009), “some see Auto-Tune as our generation's musical phenomenon, injecting life and relevance into the same old artistic routine. Others dismiss it as a cheap way for artists to hide their lack of talent behind the banner of originality.”  I agree with this quote because while in some cases it can be used depending on how you do it but you should always let your true talent show outside of it.

Supporters of technology and music say that music and technology have been partners for good reasons. A good example is using it to make holograms of performers who have passed on, such as Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, to name a few. Though they are not really around anymore, people can still have the experience of seeing their concerts and feel like they truly have not died but rather will live on through their music. According to Variety Magazine, Whitney’s family members decided to scrap the idea of a hologram of her because they thought it was not a lifelike representation of her. This was to be aired on the NBC show “The Voice”.

There is also a well-known pop star that appears as a hologram named Miku Hatsune` who has sold out concerts in different countries. Though she is a vocaloid hologram character, she proves to be entertaining. (See the video “The World is Mine”) While her image is projected on the screen, the rest of the music is played by live band members.

The main rebuttal of this whole argument is, would anyone want to spend money to see something that is not really there or would they prefer to see someone lip syncing? Because all it really is doing is cheating someone out of a good performance and live music in the process.

While in some cases that is true, the thing to remember is what kind of taste other people may have. It is more about what each person thinks of it and most of all if this is something they would want to go see, rather than focusing on what is real in an act.

There is also another factor in music that I must mention that of lip syncing and using teleprompters in concert. Sure you have seen your share of performers messing up in concert, but it is all due to nerves. Other times, some singers want to try to remember the words to their songs without having to read from a small piece of paper or a screen.

A perfect example is from what I have seen on TV regarding some so called live performances which will involve singers or bands who lip sync their own songs. Good examples are the movies and the TV show, “This is Spinal Tap,” “The Rocker,” and the “I Carly” episode “I fix a Pop Star” (iCarly). In the first case the audience got mad at the sellout band Vesuvius when it was revealed that they were lip syncing and got caught and condemned.  In the second example Ginger Fox, who was a parody of Britney Spears, embarrasses herself by doing a flimsy job of performing by failing to keep up with the vocal track and just mindlessly marching around onstage despite the audience cheering her on.

Lip syncing at the time was something you got busted for when you did it live on TV or in concert. Some examples of this are Milli Vanilli and Ashlee Simpson who both got busted for lip syncing in a live performance.

For those who do not know who Milli Vanilli were, they were a pop duo who had some hit songs coming up on thirty years ago, “Blame it on the Rain” and “Girl You Know It’s True.” They even won some awards for their work until it was revealed that they did not actually sing their own songs, all thanks to the skipping record of “Girl You Know It’s True” by repeating the phrase “girl you know it” at least fifteen times at a live MTV concert. Because of this new found information they lost their Grammy Award (VanHemert).

Ashlee Simpson was partly busted for that same reason when she performed live on Saturday Night Live and she ‘supposedly’ sang the wrong song, only to blame it on acid reflux. (VanHemert) There is also Technetronic, a then popular Belgium based electro band that had a number of hits in the early 1990s such as “Pump up the Jam” and many other songs. They never charted again after it was revealed that one member was lip syncing since he did not really speak English. (Vidinfo) Though lip syncing is a big deal, nowadays you can do it for fun, but when you are doing a live show or concert, be real to your fans.

I also want to add that there were some movies that depicted technology as well such as “Josie and the Pussycats” which was basically a big commercial in which they used subliminal messages on kids and teens telling them to buy into product placement by way of pop idols. They even went so far as to extensively use brand names throughout the movie. (Blackwelder)

There is also the film “Jem and the Holograms” in which a young girl meets a robot named Synergy who creates holograms. Also, the record label she is with turns her into a typical cookie cutter singer to suit their expectations. But much to the former owner’s dismay, they rebel. It is supposed to be based off the cartoon but was an epic fail. However, it had a good message so there is that.

Another film I have seen before would be “Macross Plus,” found on Anime News Network, in which a woman manages a pop star named Sharon Apple who is really a hologram that she controls. But since she is an artificial intelligent being she takes on a personality of her own, despite her manager’s dismay.

There are also bands that have gotten busted for lip syncing in music videos such as the ground C and C Music Factory who is known for the song “Everybody Dance Now had a model named Zelma Davis lip syncing to the track when it was really Martha Wash of Weather Girls fame who actually provided the vocals. Because of this Wash sued the group for not crediting her on the song. (Vidinfo)

There is also an episode of Hey Arnold that depicts a pop star named Ronnie Matthews who has no real musical talent and was just in it for the money much to the dismay of a contest winner because she felt like his songs were beautiful and meaningful. (Fandom)

According to Corser (2015), “Whether people agree that using samples and automated instruments is live or not, it cannot be argued that these artists are staging a performance incorporating music and technology.”  My thought and answer to that would only be that you are disrespecting the family of the artist and the fans by giving them something that is completely staged,

Most people would rather hear and see a live performance by a real performer, not one that they can see through. For example, I myself have mixed thoughts on holographic singers especially since that performance with Michael Jackson at the Billboard Awards that is just what I think.

I tweeted an indie Nu metal band called Hidden Scars to ask them what they thought about technology being overused in music, to which one member responded with, “I agree with you to the extent of that a performer should never use prerecorded music to cover their own role onstage. For example, Hidden Scars will be using prerecorded synths, orchestral instruments, electronic percussion sounds, samples and noises to create our sound. But our guitar, drums, bass, and vocals will always be all organic. And I do not rely on auto tune in the studio either. I just sing it til I get it right!”

I also emailed an actor who is also a singer named Vic Mignogna who had this to state,

“I absolutely agree. Artists do not need to be as good these days because technology helps them so much.”

I also spoke with another band called Blue Helix who is an indie band, to which one member responded with this comment, “Pop and modern country artists rely on it, while rock, acoustic, metal and jazz don’t. I’m in the rock/acoustic genre, so I steer far away from anything that I can’t naturally do. I feel it is overdone when it is in those above genres I have mentioned. And it saturates the music.”

Also another way that music and technology go hand in hand would be an example of talk boxes or wah-wahs used by some guitar player it provides a wah-wah effect by speaking or singing into it creating the sound of the instrument. As I mentioned earlier Peter Frampton was the first musician to use this effect on his guitar, and taking inspiration from him was Motley Crue and Bon Jovi, who used talk boxes on their songs. See “Kickstart My Heart, “Doctor Feel Good, “Living on a Prayer” and “It’s My Life”. They all rock extremely hard.

There are also dancers who use technology to enhance their performance such as special effects. (See NBC Network’s “America’s Got Talent” 2015) There were a lot of dance troupes and dancers who got cut from the competition because their performances were more about flash then the performance itself, which you do tend to see sometimes.

There are also bands that follow this as well when in concert when it comes to smoke, lasers and too many lights flashing. You cannot even see the band or singer in all of that fog and technology. But when you go to a show to see a show, make sure it is one worth watching and does not have too many special effects. That makes it difficult to see the performer especially through all of that smoke.

So the main point that I am stating, is that while technology can be a factor in music, the point is not to rely so much on it and to always practice your instrument, be it your voice or anything else. Keep in mind other peoples’ perspectives on musical tastes.

If it were me, I would see a real singer instead of a poser.  I am not all about people who use auto tune because all it does is mask a person’s true voice which is wrong. I have mixed thoughts on holograms in concert because there is no point in wasting money on something that is not there even if it is a singer that died. I should also add that product placement can be a massive influence in music as well as in advertising even in web pages.

I would rather see someone who is about the music and can actually play, but that is just my own opinion. Although, I do not mind a few songs done electronically, depending on who it is or how it is all done.

My final thoughts and conclusion would be that people have a wide variety of tastes and expectations that should be met with their standards and pocket books. But overall it is how you like your music – it is a matter of personal preference.

The Voice & The Four Rant

Hey there once again its your old friend DJ Dizzy here & this rant I'm doing involves the two singing competitions that are going to be annoying by far. That of the Four & The Voice.

My main thoughts on the two is only this nothing but the same thing. You have these hopefuls that audition to be like the next big name or whoever is out there but the thing is are you really guaranteed that sort of thing? Answer: Nope. So my main thoughts on this are its just better to sing just for the fun of it because the only thing these shows do is trick you into doing something like be spokesperson for a product & you do see that with American Idol.

Also some of these singers are just in it for the fame you can clearly tell in some cases cause there's always a sob story involved. No disrespect though but if anything some of these shows are all the same you go on it try to eliminate the competition  but also  its more about impressing the judges which you do see a lot of in these shows.

That explain why people get so sick & tired of seeing these competitions. Whatever happened to just having fun & being yourself? You have these singers trying to be someone they aren't that's something I get sick of. There's barely any originality when it comes to what I've seen so far  but instead of trying to be like the next big name that's out there its better to just have fun when it comes to music.

Just do something to relax instead of trying to be famous & stop making up some sob story to gain the sympathy vote cause its been done one too many times.  Also some of the people that really do go on to have a career don't last too long because of either bad management or made some poor choices throughout. Sometimes a bad support system can contribute to this as well.

So my point of all of this would be its just better to have fun with music & just sing for the fun of it because its just better to have fun with what you do & make people happy instead of getting caught up in the fame or being like the next big name.  That's just my opinion.

What makes a true performer be it a musician or a singer isn't their sob story , who they know or how they sound but rather the performance that they present it  should come from themselves & be about the music & be more original. You don't  need to be someone you aren't or live a superstar life in order to succeed. Take away the fame you'll still have the same skills you need to make something of yourself. Just remember that its about doing something you love & because you want to do it.
The More You Know

Well I should get going so be radically righteous & stay awesome!

Thoughts of a DJ: Having your own style

Hello everyone its the DJ coming at you this time around I'm giving you some food for thought that of finding your own style & being true to it.

We se copycats every single day  trying to be like the next big name or doing something to be famous but one thing we need to remember is that there's only one of you as it should be & you should share your own talents regardless of whatever they might be.

You have your own way of doing things & you shouldn't want to follow in someone else's shadow because if anything some of the people we assume are the coolest might not always be so cool but might just be about image or something else. My main point in all of this is to always be true to yourself & never go changing for anyone because we all have our own style & talents which are too special to be hidden.

So know this & take this piece of advice with you: My main point is that if there's one thing we've lost its our individuality & identity along with it because we want to be told what to like & do in order to be seen as cool to someone so we go out of our way to impress & be popular when instead you had what you need to be seen as cool just being yourself.

You don't need to spend money on things you think you need cause the truth is you really don't be true to yourself & do your own thing & most of all have your own style we don't need to be like the next big name that's out there or really impress anyone cause there'll always be someone with something to say & has their own opinions. Be above the crowd & have your own style.

Thoughts of a DJ: American Idol Rant

Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & well I have another rant for all of you. That of (Hums fanfare) American Idol. Sorry to say but its back this time on a whole new network though. Okay this show first started out back in 2002 but since then has really went downhill even with new judges.
But other than that this show isn't really so much about singing or so much about talent but rather product placement & you do see that quite a bit its mostly a commercial & more following. (Believe me when I say you see someone from the show selling a product.)

Also here's the real question at hand: What happens to the winners & former contestants? You only hear from them for a minute or a while but then afterward that's it for them you don't hear from them too much so if anything its nothing but a joke.

Also I happen to hear that there may be a curse involved within the show once you've won in the past on it then your career ends or worse in fact take a look.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHUWketADts

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXIvCT8T7bQ

So these are just a few examples of what's happened so far with some of the past contestants but overall they're just in it to exploit people in my opinion. It was also like that with the show American Juniors in which they showcased kids as the contestants. But overall I'll say this about the show.

The last thing we need are anymore manufactured singers cause in the end that's all it really is. You don't really need some celebrity judge telling you weather or not you can sing. Music should be about having fun & being true to yourself. If you do something to be famous then there's really no point in doing it.

I'll be doing a follow up rant regarding more of these singing competitions & reality TV in general so keep your eyes peeled for that. But until then that's going to do it for me.

Stay Spicy!

Thoughts of a DJ: My thoughts on bullying

Hey there all its DJ Dizzy here & I wanted to bring up something really important that of bullying

There has been a lot going on regarding bullying & its kids who aren't just doing it any more but also adults because of a sense of entitlement. So I can't help but ask the question: What did we truly do to deserve this? But the real question is " Why won't anyone step in & do something?" Mostly because we're too busy looking out for number one by that I mean ourselves. A good example of this is in most schools. with kids & most teachers.

There are teachers who'd rather harass students to exert their own authority to feel good & in turn the same goes for kids. Just have an excuse to feel good about themselves. I say this out of experience being born with a handicap so I say that just because you have any authority of any kind doesn't mean you should treat people however you like. You have a job to be a role model to your community, your friends & to yourself. Help someone even if it might mean becoming the victim yourself.

Its really sad to me that time & time again you see this behavior being repeated & no one actually does anything to stop it.

So my main point on this would be while though you might end up becoming a victim in the end its worth it to do the right thing. Just something to think about.

Well with that said I'm going to be on my way but we'll talk again soon so until then

Stay righteous

Thoughts of a DJ: The thing about cliques & clubs

Hey there all DJ Dizzy here & I'm going to speak on a topic that's way overdue that of cliques & clubs.

Now we've all seen them around be it in school or anywhere else they come in many types one of them being cool or good looking. But the main thing is we feel like we want to be apart of them because we figure we're good enough & cool ourselves only to be fooled. In some ways the thing is some of them may call themselves your friend but its all a setup sometimes depending on who you know. If there's one thing I've experienced both in real life & on TV cliques & clubs are nothing to be apart of since its all the same you do something for them & they let you join up regarding what it might be.

I say this because there was a time that I wanted to be apart of one only to experience harassment & abuse. It was heartbreaking so much so that I still have an emotional scar from it. But it also provided a life long lesson  its best to know who your real friends are & stick with them regardless if they're cool or not the only thing that should matter is how they treat you & if they show you respect & treat you right then they're worth your time.

Also its better to ask yourself what are they really looking for as well as is it worth it because sometimes they'll intentionally leave you or your friends out of something like an event of some kind.
You sometimes don't know how it makes others feel so much so that you  feel like you're superior because of what you have-- that of clout or authority of some kind.

So my main point is you should join a club or a clique because you want to meet people who have the same thing in common as you & learn something new & have your friends join up if they want to get to know new people or get out of their comfort zone & try new things after all that's the main purpose of them.

Well hopefully those are some good tips & words of wisdom to live by & here's hoping you readers will take all of this to heart & mind also remember in some cases you're just better off without any of them because as long as you have someone talking about you then they'll never forget you dare to be different dare to be unique.

So with all of that said & out of the way here's some tunes

Thoughts of a DJ: How to tell if you're a 90s kid part 3

Hey DJ Dizzy here & after the success of my posts of How to tell you're a 90s kid here's another one coming you're way.

You know you're a 90s kid if you did the following:

You made mixed videotapes of your favorite music videos ect.

If you remember a time when Furbies scared or irritated the crap out of you.

If you raced home from school to watch Fox Kids & Kids WB.

You remember TGIF on ABC meant Saturday morning wasn't too far.

You still collect beanie babies.

You watched MTV The Grind or Beach house during spring break (Admit it you know you did.)

You remember when you played Girl Talk or Pretty, Pretty Princess.

You're still collecting the toys from your favorite cereals.

You desperately wanted  Lunchables for lunch (Hot lunch sometimes sucked)

You had to have any games made  by Wizards of the Coast.

You wanted to be a member of the Burger King kids club.

You still say "Yo queiro Taco Bell" out of spontinuity

You remember a time when jelly shoes were the thing to wear.

You still exercise with a Skip It.

You remember a time when MTV was unplugged.

You wish USA Cartoon Express or Action Extreme Team was back on the air ( Those were the days.)

You ever wanted to join the Dream Team.

You remember using a homemade fortune teller or a ouji board to predict who you'd marry.

You wanted to be like Mighty Max & had the playsets.

You're still playing  with your Easy Bake Oven or Creepy Crawlers

You still have a Fruit By the Foot from 20 years ago.

You cry whenever you watch The Bodyguard

You remember when BET spoke on REAL issues (Does Teen Summit ring a bell?)

You remember using the Living Books games to read.

You remember a time when Coke was the real thing.

You remember when action shows reigned supreme.

Well that's all I got for now hope you enjoyed it.

Thoughts of a DJ: Goodbye to Chester Bennington

Hello once again everyone. It's the DJ with some pretty sad news. It's been announced that the lead singer of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington was found dead on Thursday morning. It was reported that he hung himself due to depression as well as having issues with both drugs & alcohol. It was also announced that the band also had a tour & concert planned fir next moth.

Now when I first heard this I was in shock because I myself am a fan of Linkin Park so to hear that the lead singer committed suicide really hit home for me because in addition to some famous singers I knew someone that not only suffered depression but also committed suicide as well.

Depression is perhaps one of the biggest art of anyone's life even I've had my shares of self doubt as well as bouts with it. But its better to deal with it by talking about your problems first hand with someone you can trust. Also when it comes to suicide don't be scared to get the help you need. You've got to plenty of choices on how to handle life & the best way is to try to survive it. There's no real sense in running away all you can really do is live life as best you can.

But also I send out my deepest condolences & prayers to Linkin Park as well as the rest of the fans of the group & if you know someone who suffers from suicide or depression in general don't be afraid to get to speak to them & get help. There's going to be a suicide prevention link underneath.

Well that's all I have to say on this matter once again I send out my condolences to Linkin Park as well as the rest of the fans & I hope for nothing but the best in these troubled times.
