DJ Interviews: Lil Ray Gun

Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & I sat down with a rapper who hails from Florida & his name is Lil Ray Gun. He had a lot to say regarding his rap career so sit back relax, & enjoy!

How’d you get started in music?

In high school, some of my homies were messing around with FL Studio and passed it onto me. We started making beats everyday and I began writing raps as well but didn’t start releasing them until recent years.

Who are your inspirations or influences?

I have so many but I would have to say Eminem is one of my biggest inspirations. I grew up listening to him the most as a kid. His lyrics really stuck out to me.

What advice would offer aspiring performers?

I would say work hard and believe in yourself. Most people doubt themselves and that kills a lot of dreams before they even begin.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands or singers?

I feel like I don’t really sound like a certain rapper or artist out right now. I tend to make all different kinds of sounds, never liked sticking to one genre or sound.

Any new gigs or albums in the future?

I plan on doing some shows this year. Also, I have a mixtape coming soon that I’ve been working on for months now.

I wish him luck in his career & nothing but the best. So with that said I'll see you next time, stay awesome!

DJ Interviews Mind Cinema

Hello once again everyone its Dizzy here coming at you this time around with a band hailing from Mexico so let's hear it for Mind Cinema!

How'd you get started in music?

1) We've all been around music since we were kids, school bands, high school cover bands, as we grew older we shared that common feeling of wanting to create, playing nirvana riffs or Radiohead covers didn't cut it anymore, we needed our own thing.

Who're your biggest influences & inspirations?

2) We each have different musical influences, we grew up in the 90s, so Radiohead, air, grunge, shoegaze are obvious ones, but we also started listening a lot to 80s music, synth stuff, we love synths, it’s a great tool for sound experimentation.

What's your advice to any up & coming performers?

3) Just do it for the love of it, don’t expect nothing in return, don’t expect recognition. If you really love music put time into it, get better everyday, learn a new instrument, learn from musicians around you, absorb and experiment.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands?

4) We are not really trying to invent anything, just create music that makes sense to us as an artistic expression. Art is important to us, we take our songs seriously, we're not a "just have fun and dance" band, we look for meaning in sound and lyrics.

Any new albums or gigs in the future?

5) We're just starting to get booked outside Mexico and in some major festivals in Mexico, so we expect to get our music heard by a wider audience and see where it goes from there. As for albums coming we are going to be releasing one song a month this year and at the end of the year release it as a full album.

I wish them nothing but luck in their career & their success & special thanks to them for this interview. So until  stay awesome & rock n roll!
