2015 KCAs Rant

Hello again peoples DJ Dizzy here & I'm going to let off a little steam about something that we all grew up watching but probably still watch. This time around I'm talking about the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. (Or for short the KCAs.)

Now I'm sure you've seen a lot of rants on You tube regarding the nominees &  winners & that's exactly what I'll be covering in this rant as well as some of my thoughts on this.

There will even be a link to see the nominees later on so with all that said lets rock: Okay first off  the favorite cartoon category: I noticed that the same cartoons that are nominated are all the same & they'll do anything to keep it on top even if it means having to rig the vote themselves. You can actually tell they do. I think the reason they do that is because they want to get kids & people to watch their channel more because they figure everyone loves a winner. I also noticed they've added a new category having to do with TV talent shows & one in particular that always gets nominated would be American Idol & what I want to know is why nominate that show when people don't really care about that show? What they need to do is do away with that category altogether also when you really think about it its not actually the kids' choice but whoever's behind it choosing for them as well.
As for some of the other nominees what they should do is focus on some that aren't quite well known really give them a chance for once because there have been some good shows in the past years that have been really good but never really got the chance from what I've seen. They should honor the classics as well. A good example of that would be some of the favorite singers that have been nominated in the past year for selling out. So what they should do is nominate people for actual talent.

So my main point would be when it comes to the KCAs this is what I want to see in some of the nominees:

1. Have other cartoon shows put on the ballot

2. Singers winning for actual talent

3.Classic shows being honored

4. Give out more lifetime achievement awards.

As promised here's a look at the nominees for the show.

http://www.teen.com/2015/02/20/entertainment/kids-choice-awards-2015-nominees/

So if anything instead of just brainwashing kids into watching whatever maybe popular the thing to really have their votes & opinions count because Nickelodeon at one time was the number one network for kids & now today that's not really the case now they only care about entertainment that or just selling stuff altogether. After all you have a mind of your own so don't be scared to use it & think for yourself. So if anything you should like something because you like it not just because of someone else or just because it's popular. This is just my opinion on this as well as other award shows. But let me know what you think regarding this article.

So with that said here's some old school for you.

Movie Review: Guardians of the Galaxy

Hey there DJ Dizzy here back in action. Though its been a long time coming I said that I was going to do this, a review of perhaps one of the most talked about films this year: The Guardians of the Galaxy.

For those who haven't seen it its a sci-fi action adventure comedy about a group of 5 strangers that are made up of an assassin, a fugitive, a loose cannon fighter, & two thugs. Their mission to retrieve an orb with what's called an infinity stone which also acts as a peace treaty between two tribes. Our motley crew of heroes consists of:

Peter Jason Quill a.ka. Star- Lord: The human leader of the team who discovers that he's also an alien prince through his mother. He is constantly pursued by bounty hunters as he then goes off into space to retrieve an orb that's said to house a great power. Played by Chris Pratt.

Gamora: A surgically enhanced assassin who's parents were killed by the ruthless space tyrant Thanos & was forced to be taken in by him as his daughter. Because of this she has earned a bad reputation. She acts as the team's muscle. Played by Zoe Saldana

Subject 89P13 a.k.a Rocket Raccoon: A sharp shooting raccoon who's considered an experiment gone awry who's wanted for multiple theft including car jacking. But despite this he remains loyal to the crew & acts as the second in command. Voiced by Bradley Cooper.

Groot: A human like tree alien who acts as the team's muscle as well as Rocket's bodyguard. Though his vocabulary is made up of three words (I am Groot.) What he lacks in speech he makes up for with incredible strength & loyalty. Voiced by Vin Diesel.

Drax The Destroyer: The loose cannon member of the crew who lost his family to Thanos though he believes his daughter alive. Because of this he's out for revenge against Thanos & joins the crew in order to get it. But despite he's mean strike he has a good heart. Played by Dave Bautista.

Now as for the premise of the movie they're trying to deliver an orb that contains a stone called an infinity stone to the Nova Corps & then that's when Ronan The Accuser gets involved by teaming up with Thanos & his other daughter Nebula to stop them from making the delivery. Ten all hell breaks loose when Ronan double crosses them & them takes the orb for himself & now these unlikely heroes have to ban together & stop him & save the galaxy.

What to look for  there are some memorable lines that I'm sure you might want to quote not to mention some memorable scenes to go along with it. As for some favorite characters for me I have to say that Rocket & Groot really stole the show for me. The main questions I have about this movie would be since when is Ronan the Accuser considered a bad guy? Because last I remember he was a good guy. Also since when is Nebula considered to be Thanos' daughter? Because last I remember she was his SISTER. Lastly since when is Howard the Duck considered a hero?

There are also some outtakes that'll really get you laughing as you'll see here.

But all in all I highly recommend this movie & I give it a perfect 10. Though it may put you in mind of Star Wars with some  of the ships & the special effects but I guarantee you that you'll love it.
But with that said I should get going let me know what you think of this epic movie.

Here's a little something from the movie itself.

The fall of 4Kids

Hey there one & all it's your friendly neighborhood DJ Dizzy here back with some interesting news In entertainment news Kanye West will be doing a swimsuit calendar to benefit gamers everywhere. APRIL FOOLS!

But in all seriousness I think its time I spoke on a topic that's way overdue. This month we're talking about the fall of 4Kids Entertainment. Now for some that don't know 4Kids Entertainment started out as part of a division of Funimation Entertainment that housed such great as the Dagon Ball series, Desert Punk & BECK Mongolian Chop Squad to name a few. 4kids then branched to create their own production company which was to focus on kid friendly anime. & $Kids Entertainment was born.

Now I'll admit some anime they really shouldn't have messed with a perfect example of that would be DBZ Kai (No you're aren;t reading that wrong they really did mess with DBZ.) Not to mention they also did same shows with the same plots & voice actors as well. But if anything there's something that caused them to come to a screeching halt.

I'm talking about Yugi-Oh 5Ds & Zexal. Now here's the story: Well according to Mildra from what he said that TV Tokyo rejected their idea to have 4Kids do an English dub of both Zexal & 5Ds. But despite their rejections they went & did it anyway causing them to be taken to court by TV Tokyo & in the end they won the case against them causing them to file a chapter 11.

So that's the story of what happened to 4Kids came crashing down. Like I did say I heard it from MIldra a while back you can ask him for the info yourself if you have to. But my main thoughts on 4Kids they did do some anime that I thought were okay such as Sonic X & that remake of TMNT to name a few but all in all some shows they should've just left alone as I did say earlier.

So my point of all of this would only be some advice that'll be in the form of some wise words that they could've used along time ago. If something isn't broken then don't try to fix it. But we all make mistake & learn the hard way so that's how it had to be for them.

Now with that said let me know your thoughts on this article as well as some of the anime

Let me know what your thoughts are regarding 4Kids & some of their anime shows. Here's a little something to keep you rocking.

A Tribute to Johnny Kemp.

Johnny Kemp - Secrets Of Flying (Expanded Edition) (2012)

Hey there guys DJ Dizzy coming at you with some breaking news just last week we lost yet another great talent that of Jphnny Kemp. He died just last week at the age of 55 from a concussion & drowned. For those who don;t know who Johnny Kemp was he's best known for the song 'Just Got Paid.' & he also did othe songs but that was his best known one.

He just had this talent & this voice that was just amazing as far as subtlety. He just oozed a kind of charisma that was all his own & though he was a one hitter he seemed like he was humble & determined as far as music went. I admit I did like his music & though he was known for that one song he was by far one of the best male singers of his time as far as I was concerned. He'll be forever missed.

There'll never be another Johnny Kemp as far as I'm concerned. H e wasn;t in it for the fame & you could really since that with him because most singers that I've seen kind of are all about the fame or fortune. He was all about the music & that's what I really liked about him the most.

So with that here's the only hit he was ever known for

Johnny Kemp- Just Got Paid.

With that said I am out of here!

A Tribute to Origa

If we reach the 3000 euro limit, we will have ORIGA at Anime 2014!

Hey there guys DJ Dizzy here & it's come to my attention that this year we lost a really good talent that of renowned Russian singer Origa. She had died of lung cancer in January at the age of 44 & for those who don't really know her she was best known for doing the theme songs for the Ghost in the shell series & movies

Now as far as her singing went she had a voice that just really put you in a hypnotic yet peaceful trance & the moment you heard her & her music was like other worldly like something you've never heard before. She had a style of her own & she was very versitile what with doing the songs she sung in Russian & English. Though she wasn't known too much she's known by some of the people that know her best both friends, family & fans.

We love you & miss you Origa & you'll forever be missed. For those who're interested here are some of her most well known songs from the GITS Series.

Cartoon Network Rant (Part 2): Boomerang

Hey there all this is part 2 of my CN rant & this time around I'm going to get on the case of it's sister channel Boomerang. Now I'm a fan of the old school  shows & when I found out that they were going to change the logo & its whole schedule around one question came to mind: WF?!  So with that I present a rant of everything that they were once all about. In no particular order:

The Logo:

Now the original logo as you know was a blue boomerang shaped like the letter B which was it's signature & to make matters worse I couldn't help but noticed that they dropped their original slogan 'It's all coming back to you.' They really did keep the classics alive & well. But aside from that the new logo now looks like a box & that doesn't sit well with me & I'm not going to lie when I say that like Cartoon Network's old logo I missed the B shaped boomerang logo. That's what identified it most.

The bumpers. Sometimes in between commercials they'd either have music videos or classic cartoon clips & it was cool because if anything you never knew what you were going to get sometimes you'd get both. But all in all that's what I enjoyed about it most because it was a slice of some entertainment in between brakes. And sometimes they'd even feature commercials featuring some of the characters
which I thought was pretty funny.

The Blocks. Well let me just say that when it came to the blocks they had a lot to choose from especially during the day because they'd play a lot of the classic cartoons during they day as part of a block Such were Boomerang Zoo, & Boomeraction (Which is my personal favorite.) & Boomeroyalty which was similar to CN's Super Chunk. Boomerang Theatre (Yeah that's still around in case you're wondering.) Now that they're gone there's nothing really going on with it because they just put the same shows into overkill which has gotten be annoying. Speaking of which...........

The Shows. The shows back then were pretty awesome because they had a little something for everyone cartoons we grew up on & something for your parents & grandparents. But if anything that's what really put then on the map. Sometimes when an event came up like a major holiday each month they'd even do marathons of a show or air them as part of the event. Which I thought was radical because it gave us a chance to see what the classics were all about & it was good for parents as well. Nowadays they play the same shows & their episodes every week on overkill & it's getting to a point where you want to ask "Is this the same channel?" Last I remember they  were never like this, So boring & believe me when I say they are.

So my point of this rant is only this: They should go back to what they did best keeping the classics alive & that's something I felt that they really did well & so if anything if they want to gain more views & better ratings then they should bring back their blocks & original programming schedule. Because the new Boomerang really isn't working for me or anyone else. That also goes for CN as well. Keep in mind these are my honest thoughts & opinions. But let me know what you have to say on it.

So with that said I'm going to leave you with a little something to keep you rocking from the Bleach.

Bleach- Number One.

Cartoon Network Rant (Part 1)

Hello once again guys DJ Dizzy here,

This time around it's time for me to lay into a rant that I've been meaning to do for quite sometime. I'm talking about Cartoon Network or CN for short. Now I know there's been a lot of videos about people's thoughts & rants on the channel so I decided to try my hand at it myself.

Okay lets start off with something that I think we all miss most about it.

1: The logo.

Now I'm not going to lie when I say I miss their old checkerboard logo that really made them what they were & really put them on the map.  They should bring that back.

2: The Blocks: Well if anything they had a lot of cool block from what I've seen. I especially liked it when they did Cartoon-Cartoon Fridays in particular because that was when you had the characters interacting with each other & at times they'd introduce the show depending on which one had hosting duties. I thought that was pretty cool & creative.

Some blocks they should probably bring back in particular would have to be Afternoon Adventures, Super Chunk, & Cartoon Theatre just for old times sake. Matter of fact I'd have love to see Toonapalooza as well on Friday nights becuase from what I've seen in the old commercials that sounded pretty cool.

3: The Bumpers:The bumpers were especially the best part because in addition to letting you know what was coming up next they would also be color coded so you'd know exactly what how it worked.

Black- Midnight

Red- Morning

Yellow; Midday

Green- Afternoon

Blue-Nighttime

Purple- Action shows

So something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynWfhouOSsQ

4: The music videos & Extras: Sometimes in between commercial breaks they would also play extras of cartoons & music videos to keep people entertained behind commercial breaks. You rarely ever see them anymore these days so if anything they should bring them back.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSH0hyUWJcY

5: Toonami & Maguzi: Okay it's cool that they brought back Toonami but since they show adult based shows & I'm thinking that maybe they should bring back Maguzi a.k.a. Toonami Lite for the younger generation for those that really don't know what anime is or what it's all about as far as plot & animatopn goes.

6: The Shows: As for the shows that are airing right now I just have to ask: WTF?! Man what they're playing now is a joke. I'm sure you seen what they have now as far as cartoons if you want to call them that. because as far as I'm concerned they're getting away with airing shows that they really shouldn't. SUch as Regular Show & Adventure Time if anything they should've just left those off the air comepletely & just left online where they belong as far as some of the blocks that have come & gone I just have to ask what were they thinking? Here's a quick list:

Action Flicks- That looked like it was stuck on repeat what with them playing the same movies every Saturday. Luckily that ended when it did.

You Are Here-  This aired on Fridays as a bit of replacement for Toonami when it went off the air. There was only one that I thought was pretty good that of Young Justice. The others weren't all that good. So luckily it we don;t have to worry so much about it anymore.

CN Real- Reality Shows on an all cartoon channel no wonder that didn't work out so well.

Fried Dynamite- That kind of imploded on itself & if anything I can see why.

So my point of this is CN should go back to what they once were to give their fans a taste of some nostalgia & bring back some of their old blocks. I would've liked to see Afternoon Adventures or some of the other classic cartoons they once had way back when. We grew up on CN that & we made them what they were & they wouldn't be where they're at with out their fans so it's only fair for them to give us & the new generation a taste of some nostalgia.

Well that's going to do it for now but this rant has only begun so be on the lookout for part 2 of this rant. (And trust me when I say I've got a lot of thoughts regarding the new & less improved Boomerang.)

But anyway here's a classic video from Dexter's Laboratory that'll tide you over

Dexter's Laboratory- Back to the lab again

So until then I'm up over & GONE!!!

A Message to a monk

Hey there this goes out to a once good friend of mine Mildra The Monk,

I just want to say that I've been talking to someone on this & really thinking things over & I want to apologize for running his previous blog without his consent & I should've asked his permission from the beginning, Here's what's up:

I asked a friend of his if I could volunteer my services whenever if they got too busy to run it because I saw that there were no new articles around at the time so I ended up going over his head & now he feels like I invaded his privacy & betrayed his trust. Though my intentions were good I ended up doing wrong by going behind his back & for that I'm really sorry also I'll do my best to give you the space you need.

I just hope that you read this & understand that I mean every last word of this & I hope that you can accept my apology. In the future if you'll allow with your permission then maybe I could lend you a hand from time to time when you get too busy with other things.

But I'm very sorry for doing what I did & I hope that you can forgive me & I hope that we can make a fresher start with me. Well that's all I wanted to say before the inevitable happened. But always remember that sometimes even the lonest of wolves need a helping hand because no one can get everything done on their own.

Thanks for listening.
