DJ recommends: The Legend of Five Rings

Hey there everyone its DJ Dizzy here & this time around I'm taking a break from my usual routine to talk about tabletop gaming. One game I found myself learning is the Legend of Five Rings. (Ask questions later)

It takes place in feudal Japan & is hugely involves aspects of some other Asian cultures. The Great Clans which can be up to seven or eight clans which have a well known reputation of some kind & each of them play  a huge role depending on what warrior class the character might be in.

The five rings represent the elements such as earth, wind, fire, air,  & void but represents 8 traits such as willpower, stamina, perception, agility, intelligence, awareness, & reflexes, but can limit character development  which would be the four rings that represent the elements while void can increase a characters inner strength. A character can only advance if both rings' traits are associated with one another.

The dice system uses 10 sided dice & uses what's called a roll & keep  with that you or your opponent can decide what number of dice is rolled or kept in the game.  When the dice or die is rolled a ten  it would then 'explode' in said situation then the player can roll up to three times.

As for character creation there can be 2 ways to create it such as a dice roll to determine its attributes depending on a number of points to spend & create but you can't do this with a ronin character because they start at a higher level. Points within a character can raise its skill levels while void rings & traits do the same you can also use these to gain new skills by way of purchase.

Here's an instructional video for those who are beginners or new to the game.

So if strategy based RPG games are your thing then this is a definite recommendation its a great way to learn about strategy & character building also its a good way to pass the time when you might be bored. (I suggest playing it with a few friends.) But it is a great game no less that has a lot to offer.

Well that's my recommendation for this month which I hope you enjoy. Just thought I'd try something a little bit different this time around as I mentioned in the introduction anyway here's hoping you enjoyed it.

And to close things out here's some music inspired from the series.
