DJ's Spotlight: An interview with Iconic Eye

Hello there everyone DJ Dizzy here I've been busy as of late interviewing different bands & singers both indie & pro just recently I had the pleasure of interviewing the group Iconic Eye who was kind enough to answer a few questions

How did you get into music?

Jane: My mother was a music teacher, so I was encouraged to sing in choirs and take up musical instruments.  I was useless at anything with strings but good at drums and flute. I discovered rock music via an older set of kids that my mother taught. I was primary school age.

Jon: I first started playing like lots of people probably do at school with my mates. It was early 80’s and we were all into rock music and just wanted to be like the bands we were listening to and going to see.
Robin: When I first watched "Bon Jovi - Live in London" on VHS when I was about 3, I knew I wanted to be a guitarist. I got my first guitar for my 8th birthday and my grandad said, "If you learn Apache by the Shadows, all the way through with no mistakes, I'll give you £50". Two weeks later, I played it for him and bought a Squire Strat with the money from my first "paid gig"!
Mike: I always sang in choirs at school but was given a bass guitar for Christmas when I was 13. From then on it was music and I was playing in my first working band at 15.
Greg: I started playing an acoustic when I was 14. I learned Zeppelin, Stones and blues scales to start with and then joined a covers band when I was about 18.
What are your influences and inspirations?

Jane: My favourite vocalists strike a light in me. Always been a huge fan of Danny Vaughn. Very much love the vocals of Marcie Free, Eric Martin and Steve Overland (FM). All great vocalists.
Jon: Drummers such as Ian Paice, Pete Jupp (FM), Greg Bissonette, Mark Brzezicki (Big Country)
Robin: My first Guitar inspiration was Richie Sambora, being raised loving Bon Jovi. When I was about 9, I discovered Randy Rhoads and fell in love with Les Paul's. My other biggest inspirations are Gary Moore, Luke Morley (Thunder), Joe Bonamassa, Zakk Wylde and Steve Vai
Mike: Paul McCartney was my first but then John Deacon, Michael Anthony and Neil Murray (Whitesnake). I listen to all kinds of music and play along to develop techniques that influence my playing and practising.
Greg: Journey’s Steve Perry on vocals and Neil Schon. Huge influences on my musical path. Gary Moore (when he’s in rock mode rather than blues) on guitars can’t be beat. No one else comes close!
What advice would you give?

Jane: Firstly have a steel like belief in what you do. Be prepared to grow and take on new ideas but never lose what makes you, you! Don’t take negativity or criticism personally and use it to positively move forward. You will need to work well in a team and have self believe but don't get arrogant.

Jon: Work hard but always enjoy it but be the best you can be. Play to the one person watching exactly the same as if you’re playing to 1000.
Robin: It won't come straight away and you’ve got to work hard at it. Practice your instrument instead of playing your PlayStation. Find people who have that same drive as you, and who you can get on with, because if you don't, it will affect the music and yourself. But most of all, keep playing what you love and be the best musician you can be.
Mike: Have a professional approach to everything you do in music, from your appearance to looking after your gear. You won’t go very far with a bad attitude and broken kit. Thank the sound guy!!
Greg: Go for it, it’s better than any other hobby. But treat it exactly as that, as it’s really hard to make a living in music. Getting a job is not going to kill the dream. It helps pay for it!
Any new gigs or albums in the future?
We are currently in a touring cycle at the moment promoting the new album ‘Into the Light’. We have a UK tour coming up and some shows with Hardline and Kee Marcello (Europe) to follow. We are also looking at some more dates later in the year. Once we have completed these shows, we will look into the writing and recording of the next album.
So I just want to give a special thanks to them for doing this interview & I wish you nothing but luck in everything. so until then that's going to do it for me.  So until next time be radically righteous!

The Voice & The Four Rant

Hey there once again its your old friend DJ Dizzy here & this rant I'm doing involves the two singing competitions that are going to be annoying by far. That of the Four & The Voice.

My main thoughts on the two is only this nothing but the same thing. You have these hopefuls that audition to be like the next big name or whoever is out there but the thing is are you really guaranteed that sort of thing? Answer: Nope. So my main thoughts on this are its just better to sing just for the fun of it because the only thing these shows do is trick you into doing something like be spokesperson for a product & you do see that with American Idol.

Also some of these singers are just in it for the fame you can clearly tell in some cases cause there's always a sob story involved. No disrespect though but if anything some of these shows are all the same you go on it try to eliminate the competition  but also  its more about impressing the judges which you do see a lot of in these shows.

That explain why people get so sick & tired of seeing these competitions. Whatever happened to just having fun & being yourself? You have these singers trying to be someone they aren't that's something I get sick of. There's barely any originality when it comes to what I've seen so far  but instead of trying to be like the next big name that's out there its better to just have fun when it comes to music.

Just do something to relax instead of trying to be famous & stop making up some sob story to gain the sympathy vote cause its been done one too many times.  Also some of the people that really do go on to have a career don't last too long because of either bad management or made some poor choices throughout. Sometimes a bad support system can contribute to this as well.

So my point of all of this would be its just better to have fun with music & just sing for the fun of it because its just better to have fun with what you do & make people happy instead of getting caught up in the fame or being like the next big name.  That's just my opinion.

What makes a true performer be it a musician or a singer isn't their sob story , who they know or how they sound but rather the performance that they present it  should come from themselves & be about the music & be more original. You don't  need to be someone you aren't or live a superstar life in order to succeed. Take away the fame you'll still have the same skills you need to make something of yourself. Just remember that its about doing something you love & because you want to do it.
The More You Know

Well I should get going so be radically righteous & stay awesome!

Another Kids Click Review

Hi there everyone Its your good friend the DJ here & I'm doing another review of Kids Click. For those who aren't quite sure what Kids Click is its a morning block that premiered just last summer on July 1st & since then has been getting some seriously awesome reviews.

This morning block has really been a success not just with kids but also adults & since then has gained a lot of notoriety in most states. Now as far as the shows go they've been adjusting their schedule quite a bit even on weekends I like that they do back to back episodes of Pac Man & Pink Panther. (Zak Storm was on there but moved to Discovery Family.) Anyway though they've also aired Winx Club for a time but I guess they're taking a break & Dinosaur King as of now.

I had the pleasure of writing to them & they said that they're getting some new shows in the future & are working on an afternoon block for later on (which I hope does happen really soon) Aside from that it seems that kids & adults really enjoy the block as does this DJ in training. Matter of fact take a look at some of these clips

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0j-vSeItYfw&t=15s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7J83nyYsCE

What I primarily enjoy about Kids Click is that they take the time to respond to their fans & they really live up to their goal of providing quality entertainment for everyone & to me just seeing this provides some absolute nostalgia because cartoons have been apart of not just my childhood but everyone else's as well & just seeing this really brings back a lot of memories of when we were just kids racing home to see our favorite shows even waking up to watch them.

So for them to bring back morning cartoons every week really gives people a chance to relive all of the memories that they once had as kids cause cartoons can not only make you laugh & entertain you but also provide decent lessons & relatable characters & a good plot that'll keep you wanting to see how the story goes & if things will work out in the end for everyone.

Hopefully other networks will soon get the message because even some of their educational shows aren't really doing it on Saturday mornings (Just saying.) Anyway my main point on Kids Click is that here's hoping that it continues to be as successful as it is now & that it gets an afternoon block ASAP because this is one block that's a hit with not only me but other fans alike be they adults & kids. So once again Kids Click here's to you & keep doing what you're doing! We love you!

2018 KCAs Rant

Hello everyone DJ Dizzy here & I have a lot to say regarding the 2018 Kids Choice Awards

One thing that I've noticed is that they always air a new episode before the ceremonies & then a new show afterwards. why do you think that is? Well the main guess is that  they want to get more viewers for the network.   You can also tell that some of the votes are surprising rigged.

Especially when it comes to some of the categories like the cartoons for example  there are so many to choose from in fact there were about six of them that there were nominated & one show which shall remain nameless always wins. So the real & main question is how is that possible well its obvious that they want to keep it on top ratings wise because they figure that everyone loves a winner.

I should also mention that while the votes might be rigged you rarely ever see action cartoons nominated for the category of favorite cartoon? There have been some good ones over the years especially since they're seriously underrated speaking of which you got a lot of shows, movies & books that are underrated which should get there just dues. But we rather focus on anything popular.

Truth is though the KCAs are mostly a farce to get kids on watching they're network & buying some products by way of product placement. Other than that the main reason I watch it is because of the slime (You know there's going to be a whole mess of that.) But also there's the Wannabe award which they stopped doing because either they ran out of people to honor or it wasn't that important anymore.

But I got to be honest when it comes to the KCAs its pretty much the same thing people winning based on looks & popularity in some cases when it comes to singers or actors half the time. You can also tell that most of the shows games, & music are just selected for the kids when some of them probably don't really watch or listen to any of them.

But overall while you can tell that its just hyped up I watch it to see who's going to get slimed & who  the host is. That's all I will watch it for but overall you can tell that its fixed as far as votes & that its mostly a farce. I've seen a whole mess of rants to know that's just what it is mainly a bunch of hype & a farce.

So my point is this: While the KCAs is just nothing more but a big commercial that uses style over substance because they tend tp focus more on popularity you also see it on the Teen Choice Awards. They're just telling kids what to like altogether which you see every year.  While its fun to watch I think they should remember to honor people who work hard & talent along with it & maybe go by something kids actually like to see.
But there's a website for you to view everyone of the nominees

But anyway that's going to do it for me I'm gone so be radically righteous & BE EXTREME!!!

DJ's Spotlight: An Interview with Lady & The Clowns

Hey there everyone DJ Dizzy here & I just recently did an interview with a group named Lady & the Clowns. To which I asked them some questions. Special thanks to them.

.Lady and the Clowns

How'd you all get started in music?

We started playing by chance and then for fun, or probably because we didn’t have nothing better to do.

We’re inspired by the everyday life experiences. We write about everything that surrounds us. To us write is a vital necessity and to play is a primordial impulse

How has music impacted your lives?

Music impacted our lives in a very good way, we can’t image our life without it, without days spent in practice room and up and down on stage. It is a sort of teacher who contributed to our personal growth.

How do you set yourselves apart from other bands?

In a world full of emerging bands and singers there is a huge difficulty in distinguish yourself. We believe that the only way to reach people is to be yourself and transmit your feelings through words and music. To be an original band means to be humble and believe in your band mates’ friendship. Experience taught us that public is able to perceive this fundamental aspect that goes beyond the genre of music you play on stage. About our music, right now, we are working on the mixture of sounds between hard rock and disco music, inspired by 80’s with a preponderant bass, catchy drums and a charming voice. The final goal is to create simple music, usable but not expected.

Any advice to any up & coming bands or singers?

Our advice firstly, is to believe always in your capacities, to do not let people stop you even if you think it is not worth the pain. Secondly, surround yourself of true friends who are able to have fun on stage. Everyone must have clear in mind their own role in the band and be as passionate as you in build something worthy. If the crew do not cooperate, the ship sinks.

Truer & wiser words were never spoken so I wish them nothing but luck in everything that they do so here's to you Lady & the Clowns!

Be radically righteous & rock on!!

DJ's Spotlight: An Interview with Hidden Scars

Hello everyone Its DJ Dizzy here now recently I did an interview with Hidden Scars. Take a look,

Okay how'd you get started in music?

When I was 7 my friend from across the street and I would shimmy the lock to his Uncles room while he was gone  all day. That's where we would keep all his KISS records and  mags. Eventually we got our own KISS cassette collection going, and would dress rehearse KISS shows to their music. It wasn't until 6 years later than I actually picked up a guitar from a homeless guy who was camping in my Dad's backyard, which led to me learning to play, write, and sing, and start my own band by age 14.

How would you say that music has impacted your life?

It has been the deciding force of everything I've done with my life since I was a kid. It defines who I am as a person, and it reflects everything that goes on in my life from relationships to mental emotional and spiritual highs and lows. It also has helped me to look at the world and the universe from an objective and open point of view.

Who's your main inspiration?

I could never name one single person as my main inspiration. Trent Reznor, David Lynch, and Anton LaVey come to mind. Other than that it is the flow of life, and the movement of nature both dark and light that keeps me inspired. People and moments that come and go.

Any new gigs or music in the works?

Hidden Scars is a brand new project that will be fully active this Summer '18 with a fully produced EP release, music video, and live concert tour dates around the U.S. Please visit HiddenScars.com for updates, demos, and lyric videos.

What advice would you offer to any up & coming bands or performers

Manifest your own destiny. Don't settle for 9-5, 40 hours a week modern day slavery. Don't let anything or anyone pull you away from your music. And do not wear out your local market by playing the same bar/club circuit in your home town. Get yourself out there and play as far and wide as possible.

& there you have it Hidden Scars is a band that does nu metal which I hope that you enjoy & I wish them nothing but good luck in everyone of their endeavors.

So until then be radically righteous!

Game Review: Osaka Street Stories

Hey there one & all DJ Dizzy here & I'm doing a review of another game this time around called Osaka Street Stories. This game takes place in the 90s (The year 1995 to be exact) in Osaka where both magic & Kami are real, crime is steady on the rise & the economy is looking grim to a point where people struggle to make ends meet.

But on the south side of Osaka just up above a subway there lies a pancake house where an adventure begins thanks to an envelop, that could prove to be threatening for the owners & a box the could house all kinds of secrets that even the owners are unknown to since no one really knows what kind of secrets it could actually contain. How you use it & what you do with it relies & depends squarely on you.

Each player can level up to 4 different levels but its gameplay is tightly constructed while some of the plot points can disintegrate higher level characters & each of them can have up to 3 to 5 in each party that you make. There are character sheets that can determine what class or diversity they're involved in & they're also premade. However this game uses plot points that can explode in the face of  any high level characters or disintegrate them entirely  & you can diversify from any of the prebuilt characters.

The main role of the Game Master or GM is to set the scene since in this game Osaka is a place full of violent activity where anything can happen & they can also provide the rules as to how everything all goes within the game but rather then rule against anything they provide encouragement amongst the players.

There's a lot to go on in the game as you try to discover why this box matters & the many secrets it may hold within it & its your job to keep it safe from any threats which include Yakuza or some corrupted & power hungry officials which you'll encounter along the way & receive awards in the process.

The rewards are wax doves which you'll receive when an opponent level drops or is defeated  but it depends on how many of them are dropped by an opponent & it can be equal to how many a PC can have as well. You may even encounter more items to obtain as rewards as the game goes on.

You also get your choice of consumables which can range from lesser & greater relics that may be useful when you take on an enemy in the game these relics can be weaponry such as dust bullets, pistol cufflinks, Tiny garnets & others. They each contain different abilities that you'll gain by way of skill points & each character comes with a skill or ability of some kind.

This game draws inspiration from action films such as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon & The Matrix with its action based moves  & visual effects but these sort of things are to be expected while some of the characters can pull some outrageous stunts within the game & some of the antics help to bring things home.

So overall this sounds like this could be my kind of game from what I've seen so far so this is something I'd recommend even if you might be a beginner or a adrenaline junkie (Believe me when I say I love a good rush.)  it sounds interesting as far as the plot goes & anything can happen so the key thing is to outwit & outlast your opponent or anyone that you might encounter so most of all be on your guard at all times.

So if you're looking for something to spice up your game night or gameplay then feel free to take a look at this game.

Be radically righteous!
