Hey there one & all it's the DJ coming at you once again with a special look at the year 2016. Now there were some shares of good & bad times however I'm going to do something different.
For some the year is about looking back on the events that happened in the media but how about we concentrate on what happened locally & with ourselves. A perfect example is getting to travel to different places & learn a little bit about them & how they do things as far as events go. I had the pleasure of doing some traveling I was lucky for that because I got to see all kinds of things either from a distance or in person.
A perfect example getting the chance to see Atlanta's airport for the very first time was a real treat for me. As well as a chance to see new places & meet new people along the way. But aside from that this year has been great aside from getting to reunite with old friends as well as just visit new places is just what I was doing this year among other things.
However we did lose quite a few people this year which is quite tragic & they'll be greatly missed. Also we came this close to having a female president & although we made an effort & we saw our fair share of some gold medals in the summer Olympics as well as some shares of scandal & drama.
But in all of the loss of celebs & events that were considered disappointing
lets also keep in mind that the upcoming year should also be about reflecting on the moments that might not have been much to some but is still sentimental as it should be. So my main point is this: Make the year as awesome & as memorable as you can cause life is too short for drama & the best thing to do is to live life as best you can.
Now with that said here are some tunes to get things ready for the new year.
This is another song that I wrote a while back Hope you enjoy it.
Brainwashed Youth - Lyrics.
(Hard rock instrumental)
(Verse 1)
Here we are & here we stand
mindless drones awaiting a command
Celebrity clones that's what we are
Duped into being the next big
so called 'superstar'
It's enough to make you shout
"Just what's this all about?!"
Ready for the truth?
It's about the brainwashed youth
(Chorus)
This goes out to the brainwashed youth
we're saying this out of truth.
The SpongeBob generation
a mass marketed sensation
Pushed & pressured to stay on top
Always see it & it never stops
Get your selfies out as proof
This is for the brainwashed youth
(Verse 2)
What's happened to individuality?
It got sucked into a so-called 'reality'
Idols being placed on a pedestal
Always buying their junk
keeping them paid in full
Being told what to say or like.
You aren't controlling me so take a hike!
I'm using my mind at all times
That's the end of my rhyme! (Right on now!)
Hey there one & all its the DJ here & I'm proud to present an interview that I had the pleasure of doing while back with actor/singer Eric Stuart. For those who don't know him he's a folk rock singer whose also known for his voice work in Pokémon & other well known shows but as part of a report he took the time to answer some questions that I sent to him.
When did you get started in music?
-I first really picked up a guitar in 8th grade. We had a music teacher that thought it would be cool to form a rock band out of the class. He went around the room and asked what we all wanted to play. I had a guitar at home that I was messing around with a bit so I chose guitar. He taught us rock songs from all the classic rock groups like the Stones, the Who, anything we would bring him. That year we played for the school assembly and I was hooked.
What are your inspirations?
-My hero is Buddy Holly. I am also a huge fan of Bruce Spingsteen, Cat Stevens and Elvis. I have always been drawn to a good song, a cool vibe, and a honesty to the performer. I strive to do the same. I mostly write what I know. I find the listener relates more to music that comes across as real. I may put it in a story but the underlying emotion is always something I have experienced. Songwriting is my therapy. It helps me connect with people. There is nothing more satisfying than having a fan say ‘Your songs move me’.
How do you think rock music in general has impacted or revolutionized American culture?
-Rock used to be the rebellious music. The stuff your parents and society shunned so it was picked by the youth. Now that is really not the case. Rock is pop. Pop is popular. The machine behind many of the bands/artists that are out now are so groomed that there is really not a lot of rebelling. I find very few bands I actually want to listen to, let alone believe. There are exception but overall once big corporations realized that rock was a money maker it became mainstream. I am a mainstream rock guy and was never part of any rebellious band but I always played what was truly honest music. I think image over substance has ruined a lot of what rock is today. That is the risk you run when what is cool gets gobbled up by everyone, it then becomes the norm.
Any new material?
-Yes, I am in the middle of recording/producing our 8th album. It will be out by mid-summer 2012. It learns toward the guitar-driven rock/pop that I love. Strong songs with very cool production. Should be one of our best.
Anyway that's it it was about 3 years ago but aside from that here's just one of his songs that I'm sure you'll enjoy.
Hey there once again its The DJ coming right at you with another interview that I did this time it involves singer Scott McCord whose best known for his work in the Total Drama series & Bakugan. He also does music as the leader of his band called The Bona fied Truth.
1) I got started in music by my mom. She was a piano teacher that taught classical music. She plopped me down on the bench at the age of 6 and got me playing. At that age, I was already well versed in Elvis, 50s and early 60s rock, and early Beatles music. I had a Mickey Mouse record player and played all my mom's records. I did that instead of toys really...so a lot of music in our house - rock and roll and classical. Bands came along a little later - in high school. I played keys in my first band, and eventually moved out front and started singing and playing a little guitar.
2) My inspiration comes from all kinds of things, people, places....my wife is a big inspiration. My life with her and our daughter is what's most important, and everything I experience and discover through them and with them is what usually gets infused into the music and lyrics. But I am also inspired by books, paintings, conversations, movies - music is very cinematic to me - I have very filmic experiences with music and see a lot of my songs as scenes almost, like they could be from a movie. Artists of course - Al Green, Van Morrison, Los Lobos, Sam and Dave, Tower of Power, Bob Marley and of course the Beatles to name a few...I love Julian Schnabel's films and art, Picasso and Paul Klee, Terrence Malick's films and The Walking Dead! My wife and I love that show;)
3) Yes! New material coming your way May 2012. The band is in preproduction with our producer working and reworking new songs, old songs and recording our debut album in early January, here in Toronto. We are recording the entire band "live off the floor" just like they used to do it at Motown and Stax Records. We've also recorded a whack of live shows over the last year, and we will be releasing a bunch of live material in the spring as well. So, lots of Bonafide music coming next year. We are very excited
Hey there one & all Its the DJ coming at you. & this time we're taking about a new group called Ravencroft with their new song called "Cauldron Of Deceit."
Okay I got been diving through the archives of the music scene as of late & when it all comes down to it Some supposed artist that I've seen tend to worry more about there image rather than their own talents. & new singing sensations (If you can even call them that.)
It's the same thing every time just a good looking person lip syncing or taking credit for someone else's work. Even in concert these singers lip sync they don't actually sound like that off stage or in reality. (It's either a voice track or enhancement.) & although some singers claim its their real "voice." It really is not. Also when it comes to the rock n roll hall of fame I have to side with what
Eric Stuart had to say about how they just induct random artists in there it's partly out of record sales or most downloads. What about the more iconic groups like the Beastie Boys or Red Hot Chili Peppers? Or even The Sex Pistols & the Ramones?
They've been around longer than any of today's singers & yet they get snubbed each time. Now I'll say this It should have to be not just about who's more "popular" but rather include the legends & icons. After all they set the bar for the music scene. (I may be young but I know music.) I should also mention that now some of the music isn't really as it should be. I've noticed that rock music seems to fall into the pop catagory now & speaking as a musician & rock afianado but THAT AIN'T RGHT!! In fact bublegum pop has pretty much taken over when it comes to rock music. When I think of rock that isn't what I want to hear. When you think of rock music you want a gut busting pulse pounding thumping drum solo.
The off the wall wail of an electric guitar. The soft spoken yet hard working melody of a piano & a deep sounding slap that's in your face from a supped up bass guitar. (Thats what rock music is to me.) There's nothing wrong with experimenting with other styles but don't classify it as something else.& I should mention if your at least going to give someone props when it comes to music don't ever overlook the singers that were concidered "forgotten" Cause when you least expect it they might come back just to please their fans & it's always great to have a learning experience for the next gen. Even if they aren't that well known you should give them props regardless. That & if you are planning on a career in music or show biz they thing you need to ask yourself as a performer are these
four questions:
Do you want to do this for the rest of your life?
How can your fame benefit yourself, your fans , & others?
Can your talents succeed you?
Is the world ready for you & are you ready for it?
These are some things that most up & comers forget the moment their egos take over some of them lose sight of why the got involved in the biz & what they set out to do because its a matter of I can do & say what I want with no limits & this is why they burn out. & It should be more about talent rather than image or gmmicks. They may work but in the long run stuff like this can wear on your fans & you should care more about your music rather than that or anything else.
One last thing: As much as it's cool to use a stage name or alter ego the best thing to do is to save it for the stage or when you're performing. Its cool just don't go overboard. Because I've seen enough of that Don't turn yourself into a gimmick or sell yourself out because as a musician that's the last thing you want to do. & if you want to be a good role model here's a thought STAY OFF THE DRUGS!!! PEOPLE ARE WATCHING YOU!!!
Yeah that's a big one because if you're going to have people emulate your over move you might want to think about what you do beforehand. Well these are my thoughts mostly on the industry & what its become & it shouldn't have to be a popularity contest cause now that's all it really is. Recird sales & downloads shouldn't matter & neither should how many Grammy's you have. The only thing that should matter is what you think. Thank you.
Now this time I'm going to talk about another rink that I one day hope to visit. That of Skate Daze in Omaha NE.
Now so much has been said about this place & it looks like the kind of place for a good time cause the moment you walk through those doors you don't know what to expect except a roller rink the size of a football field
Its a great place to not only hang out or for parties but if your just looking to get away or release that rush of energy that'll make you want to come back for more. This is the right place. Though I have yet to go there myself I have heard that this is a decent place but in time I'll soon see for myself
Hey there everyone. Its your old friend the DJ & this time around we're doing something different. That of teaching a different game that's really easy to play. Its called the cup game.
How you play it is get a group of friends & of course some paper or styrafoam cups though I recommend some plastic cups since they're much more sturdier & the rhythm & song which goes: Clap, clap, 1,2,3 clap up down. Clap turn touch, touch change pat down.
But that's how it goes. I attempted to play this with a relative for the first time though its tough but once you get the hang of it then it soon comes together.
Hey there. Its the DJ here & if you remember my thoughts on Jem & the holograms well this time I'm doing the review of it This time.
Now after seeing this lick or myself I have to say that three words come to mind in the form o 3 letters: WTF?! They got mostly everything about this movie all wrong & I've seen quite a bit o rants about it. Okay it starts off with Jerrica doing a video intro of how Jem & her band came to be.
She & her sister Kimber are living with their aunt Bailey played by Molly Ringwald who has 2 adopted daughters, Aja, & Shana & whenever they got mad or into an argument they hum in perfect harmony courtesy of their aunt & all is well again. But anyway Kimber posts up a video online of Jerrica singing which garners some views & the head of Starlight Music Erica Raymond played by Julia Roberts who sends Zipper her guard & henchman
to their house to set up an appointment with her & in return has them sign a contract with Starlight Music & move to LA.
They do just that & while there meet up with Rio Erica's adopted son & Jerrica is given a new look & name that of Jem. As for her sisters they too are given new looks & Jem has to give up her beloved earrings & then discovers a robot named Synergy who leads her to find some clues about her dad Emmett Benton who created it. Synergy communicates through music & then Rio tracks them down & follows them to the pier & follows them to a night club to find the missing parts for the robot to fully activate it/
Later on Aunt Baily delivers the news that she lost both the store & the custody battle & to make matters worse Erica tells Jerrica that she has to perform solo & she's under contract to do so & because of this has to break the news to her sister resulting in a bittersweet breakup but despite this there's hope.
They then together with Rio's help break into the Starlight Music building by distracting the security guard & break into Erica's office to get the Jem Star earrings & the copy of Rio's father's will of who really has control over the company. Meanwhile after finding out about Rio's plan Erica then has the place locked down but Jerrica in her Jem disguise manages to elude the guards allowing her, the girls & Rio to escape.
After inserting the earrings into Synergy they all then discover that it ws Jerrica's dad Emmet who created it & had big dreams for her to be a rock star to which she makes come true also discovers that the tunes that Synergy was whistling was the exact same tune her dad once sang
Afterward they all then confront Erica & Rios stands up to her saying that he has the original document of his dad's will over control of the company & thus has her removed from the building with help from her now former henchmen Zipper to which Aunt Baily says that now she an leave her old life behind & make a fresh start.
The concert then goes on as planned & Rio becomes the band's new manger & Jerrica & Jem's love interest in which they meet Lindsey Pierce played by Christy Marx & Then become billed as Jem & The Holograms meanwhile Erica then comes across the Misfits Pizzazz, Roxy, Jetta, & Stormer in which they become they rival group & vow to destroy Jem.
Now there's a lot I have to say regarding this movie in which they got all wrong cause even I was expecting it to be like the cartoon in which it wasn't
For starters Jerrica & Kimber never had an Aunt Bailey & if they did where was she in the show & also where were The Stingers? & last time I checked The main bad guy was indeed a GUY. It was just as formulaic as all of the other films I've seen featuring a girl band so it was really nothing unique.
Also they used YT footage of people ranging from performers telling the viewers how Jem was an inspiration to them thinking it would help the film out which it really didn't. Though I'll say this it made a good point in which its better to be yourself & know who you really are outside of the glitz & glam.
So to the people who thought it would be a great idea to butcher a classic they weren't thinking straight first off Jem is an action adventure show sure it had its share of drama when it came to covering some social subjects but still they should've left it alone & stuck to the original plot then things would've been different.
So with that said I give this movie my lowest score ever 1 out of 10. Mainly because they didn't do the cartoon justice. So with that said I'm going to leave you with a song from the original cartoon just to help you wash that bad taste out of your mouths.

Hey there one & all DJ Dizzy here & if there's one thing that comes to mind its that we tend to rely way to much on something or someone to give us the answers that we think we need. & in some cases we do. This has been proven with technology. Now this is coming from a rookie computer technician sometimes you don;t really need a computer to really help you out in everything.
A perfect example is this one time I was on an outing & there was a cashier who couldn't quite figure out the amount of change someone had so she used a calculator.(No lie) Now to tell the truth if you didn;t really know the amount for change or how much the total was then someone should've helped you out. & another thing I noticed is that we also put too much time & focus on our cellphones while on the job or for anything else.
I notice this a lot when it comes to people driving or watching their kids then again you always see this sort of thing going on & its amazing to me how many times they get away with that. Its better to just put the phone away & wait to use it later. Its like the story based in a 90s cartoon called Bucky O 'Hare in which these toads built a computer designed to do their chores but it ends up controlling them instead. So its just better to not rely so much on tech too much because instead of controlling it in the end it may end up controlling you,
Also another thing we need to stop doing is relying too much on people when it comes to other things & I've seen a whole lot of that, Because in some cases its not really an emergency & somethings you can handle on your own. While we may need help now & again somethings you can do by yourself I say this because people have got their own lives & plans to think about not to be selfish but if anything some of the answers should come from yourself. You decide your own destiny.
Now with that said here's some music to help with that food for thought.
Hello there one & all it's The DJ coming at you. I just want to let you all know that I have a project in the form of a band called Pyrostorm & this is something that I've been working on for quite sometime.its made up of a few friends that I met a while back & like me have a love & passion for music.
While we do have some sons that are in the works for now we're currently on hold for personal matters & are in preparations for getting together. But rest assured we'll be set to debut some new tracks sometime later on in early 2017 depending on what goes on.
So be on the lookout for new videos & we hope that you like our music because we've been really putting a lot of hard work & passion into this. Thanks!
Hello once again everybody! Its The DJ coming at you once again & this tim I'm going to talk about a place that's like a second playground to me & a great place for the tourists. That of the Mall of America located in Bloomington MN.
I've been there many times & it has plenty to offer such as restaurants, rides, toy stroes nightclubs, arcades, & so much more.
They have a whole wide range of stores as well as its own indoor stage & wedding chapel & just recently added a new hotel! The fourth floor has to be the best part of the mall cause that's where the real party begins the moment you take the elevator because there's also some nightlife as well as arcades as I did mention earlier
Si if you're looking for a place to hang for family fun or just looking to get a good rush then the Mall of America is just for you. Oh yeah & before I forget I just had to show you the stage right in the epicenter of some of the music stores also their wedding chapel
So if you're looking for a place to play or do a little bit of everything in between then by all means the MOA is for you. Oh yeah & when you visit tell them that Dizzy sent you/
Well with that said here's something to get you in the mood
We don't neccesarilly like someone else over the other just because that person is "New & Imporved." (& let's face it what is always isn't.") Case in point you can like something but it'll always be apart of you no matter how old you get.
A perfecr example would have to be the stuff we grw up with in the 90s. Now some of the video games & music that we listened to the all had a good run but at the same time we need to pass that on to our kids teach them about what things we had when we were growing up. That & we should teach the next gen about the true values of what things are such as the value of a person & not just matearial goods.
In all truths you see it a lot on certain TV shows be it reality or fake. There's always someone who can sing or dance or is mostly picked out of looks. Though most of the favoritism has to do with looks. Not all women or men are to look 'hot' However though it does help to an extent in the end it doesn't always work. Case & poin beauty fades dumb lasts forever. The other thing I also hate about favoritism is the fact that most of it is dervied from popularity. Now I'm sure some of you noticed it in those high school pep rallies.
They would talk so much about mostly the athletes or the acedemic students. Though there is nothing wrong with being celebrated it gets to be stereotypical along the way & some things about pep rallies shouldn't be celebrated. Case in point anything having to do with the jocks & cheerleaders or the mathletes cause not all of them are going to be all that memorable.
So my point of this whole favoritsm thing is only this: It's okay to like something. But the last thing you want to do is shut out the rest of anything else be it for that one person or place or thing. Because somethings that are cool right now may not be so cool later on.
Thank you for your undived attention
Hello once again everyone its DJ Dizzy here & this month I want to talk about a place that I highly recommend to anyone visiting or living in Minnesota or the Minneapolis area. That of Valley Fair located in Shakopee.
Now this is a place that I highly recommend if you're looking for a good time & a rush to go along with it there's plenty of rides for all ages such as The Scrambler, Chaos, the Power Tower just to name a few
These rides are only the tip of the iceberg but when I first went I didn't know what to expect other than a goodtime There's a whole mess of rides & fun including some restaurants & there own movie theatre. (The last movie wasn't watch it so its better not to go depending on what they have playing.)
But if you're looking for a day out as well as a rush to have with some family or good friends then I highly recommend this place because this place has just about everything that you're looking for & need in an amusement park. Oh yeah before I forget did I mention that there's also a water park that opens every summer? Soak City to be exact.
But overall its loads of fun with a lot to offer so feel free to pay a visit to the place if you happen to be in town or living in the Minneapolis/ Shakopee area. Oh yeah & one last pic.
Until then here's some music to keep you rocking & rol
This month I want to talk about yet another place that I recommend for anyone new to the city of Omaha or just looking for a little culture. That of the Omaha Art Museum where they house different exhibits one in particular being
Now this was an exhibit that was pretty good mainly cause the featured female rockers as well as featured other exhibits.
This was one of them which featured some instruments that were donated to the museum for show but they also had costumes as were on display by other female singers & some were a little much. here's an example of just one of the costumes.
This is just one of many costumes but overall it was a fairly decent exhibit also to pay homage to them they even showed music videos of their work in another room. So while its a great place to learn about art no matter what style of art. Its still a great place of learning experience.
Hey there once again. This month I'll be reviewing a series that's near & dear to us all. Here's a hint it involves some girls who just so happen to be superheroes. That's right the one & only...
Now when I first heard that this show was coming back I was partly thrilled but when I saw what's been done to it & heard the new voices (No you didn't read that wrong they replaced some of the original actors in the show.) I was shocked to hear as well & see this now crappy remake.
I have to admit when CN attempted to remake the Power puff Girls once again back in 2013 with that dance special it was weird & they looked (Almost) human so something like this
But this version in 2016 really crossed the line. For one the animation itself looks like a total acid trip & it barely focuses on the plot anymore like they once did. But you know how it goes. The city is threatened by a bad guy the girls are called in to put an end to it & the day is saved I know its typical but that's they way it went. However this version is more about special effects & the characters getting way to crazy.
As for the animation style of this version as I did say earlier on its a joke like a brightly colored acid trip see for yourself & be the judge
That's just one example. Now may main though & question would have to be simply this: WTF?! Seriously what was CN thinking when they remade this?! Now if there's one thing they need to learn is that some things are better left alone & the PPGs are just one of them. If they really wanted to appeal to a younger generation then bring back the show as it was intended in its original glory like the way most 90s shows were.
We don't need all of these flashy & crappy animation & forced acting. &And you know a show is seriously bad when an actor is trying too hard to capture a character's emotion.) But I digress this wasn't what I had in mind for a comeback & I'm sure that some people might agree as for well.
So I'll have to give this reboot the lowest rating. a double zero for tampering with a perfectly good classic & for butchering one as well.
That's going to do it let me know what you think so post your comments down below.
Until then I'm......OUTTA HERE!! KEEP CALM & STAY RIGHTEOUS!
Hey there one & all its your old friend DJ Dizzy here & out of all the places I've been today I'm talking about a roller rink that I had the pleasure of visiting many years ago. That of the Roller Garden roller rink in Minneapolis MN.
Though I haven't been here in a while let me tell you its has everything that you're looking for as far as good service goes. The DJs are friendly & take your requests, And they provide you with a nice pair of skates that are kept in good shape. (Then again they have to be for the other customers.) But I guarantee that you'll have a great time once you're there courtesy of the wall to wall music.
In fact here's a video of what the atmosphere is like:
But if you're new in town & looking for a nice hang out then you're in luck this is one of the most popular roller rinks in town. And in addition to wall to wall music you'll really have a great time just taking in the games & sights. I guarantee it.
Hey there all DJ Dizzy here & this time around I'm going to talk about a show that's partly popular That of Mighty Max
Now for some that don't know or remember Mighty Max was a toy line which inspired a cartoon series of the same name. It tells the story of an 11 year old boy who finds a red baseball cap which is actually a portal transforming him into Mighty Max. On this new quest he meets up with a Lemurain fowl named Virgil, & Norman, a Viking like guardian & together the try to take down the evil Skull Master & his dreaded minions along with other enemies. But sometimes on his adventures his mom & his two best friends Bea, & Felix would sometimes get involved.
Now the show itself is pretty typical. The world is in danger Virgil summons Mighty Max by any means he can The Mighty One does his job & all's right again for now. But overall it was okay for its time but though it didn't last long it went on to inspire a video game that wasn't all that good but I digress. However if you're a fan of the show then episodes of it are available online & this is a good show if you want a rush or you're looking for some nostalgia to help set you free from the mundane.
However for me I'd watch this from time to time when I was a kid & I thought it was scary but after a while once you watch it its not so bad. But like I said if you're looking for a show with some edge & adventure then by all means this show is for you.
Well I'm going to get going. But until then here's some more nostalgia for you.
(Verse 1)
To make it somewhere or anywhere
It takes a lot of blood sweat & tears
I had a lot to learn when I started out
Had to dig in deep to face my fears.
Now I’m finding myself
Playing a different role
I got a spark burning within my soul
Nothing’s going to stand in my way
I’m going to get loud I have a lot to say.
(Chorus)
I’m not on the sidelines no not anymore
I’m out to rock & maybe settle a score
Dare anyone to call me a zero
Life can play it rough
But through it all I’m staying tough
I chose my path that of a hard rock hero.
(Verse 2)
I’ve mastered the razor’s edge
No way I’ll ever stop
My will gives me strength
& its taking me to the top
I got the light within
& it’s really shining through.
No way I’ll let the haters
Tell me what I can’t do.
Hello one & all its your friendly neighborhood DJ Dizzy here & this time I've got one thing to get off my chest that of a certain channel that I'm sure most of you are familiar with. Its called Disney XD. Now I have to say that there are some shows on this channel that I do watch & well some of them lets be honest aren't all that good.
Now it does has its moments when it comes to Marvel Universe & Pac Man & the Ghostly Adventures but I digress. Now from what I've seen this channel & Disney itself looks like its hurting for one what with some other shows that they have mainly because tis more about flashiness & merchandise rather than the plot. And some of the shows I've seen lets be honest aren't all that good & some look like they came from a hallucination.
Also with some of the shows ending the least they can do is bring some shows back. I also have to admit that way back when it had some variety which I enjoy in a good TV channel. Nowadays its more about keeping up with the competition as you've noticed. But here's what I'd suggest, What should do is they bring back some of their old shows & do a mix of the new stuff to balance things out.
Feature shows that aren't owned by their company like they once did. I mean its only fair you want to get good ratings or have more viewers appeal to their favorite shows not going by what you think people might like cause after a while some shows lose their appeal especially if they're in overkill.
Which is my main point so if anything if a network wants good ratings appeal to what the viewers want instead of telling them what they want.
Most of all as I did say bring back some of the shows that put you on the map instead of the airing the same shows on overkill cause that'll only sink you further. At least just get rid of all of the flash & quantity & go back to being what you were once all about good & QUALITY entertainment mixed with variety,
Well that's all I have for now so I'm going to get going, So until then I'm up...over...& GONE!!!
Hey there once again. Now I need sometime to vent so feel free to comment of you can relate to any of this stuff.
How many of you had to deal with people who're annoying or just out to take something because they know you like something or someone? Yeah we've all been there but the thing that really upsets me is the fact that we repeat this behavior no matter how old we get. Its all out of childish jealousy. But what really makes me mad is the fact that when it comes to groups or anything else you always have to be left out or they choose someone else making you feel invisible or like nothing at all.
That's some seriously stupid bull(bleep) pardon the language but in a way its true. Its enough to make you want to retreat to a different place & never come back. Also another thing that I really hate is that whenever a group comes up that you want to join because they seem like they have the same interests as you it turns out to be about 'requirements'
So they'll make up some called rules or have you do all of this stuff to qualify/ (There's always a catch which is so annoying.) But anyway some of these clubs & groups are all about keeping up a certain image which is so tired. So here's what I say something's you're better off without because if being apart of a group means you have to forsake your friends or your tastes just to be cool then it's not worth it. It's better to do your own thing.
So as you can all see this has gone on long enough & I'm tired of it. For one we all work hard to try to make something out of ourselves or try to get where you want to go only to get lost. Other times you just feel that sometimes that some people don't want you to really have anything or be around anybody. It's enough to make you want to cry or just ask why bother,
So I guess my main point in all of this would be if something seems to good to be true sometimes its false & that's the last thing you want to deal with.
Hey there one & all DJ Dizzy here & I wasn't really planning on posting this but it has to be said just last month we lost a legendary singer that of Prince.
Now to be honest there are some songs of his that I enjoy listening to & he was the kind of guy that brought versatility to his work & you could really hear it in his music.
Also in addition to him we also lost another one this year that of the wrestler Chyna.
She was not only a well know but also she was an actress who unexpectedly died at the ripe age of 46. Though its unknown how its speculated that she wasn't breathing. She was a wrestler I truly liked cuase she proved that she could really hold her own with the guys & she proved that you can be both pretty & tough all at the same time.
But these are two people that'll be greatly missed but strongly remembered for their work & we'll never forget them for it.
So out of respect for Prince here's my own tribute in the form of a live performance of lets go crazy.
Okay the following has to do with a few thoughts I have regarding the habits of some of these singers & some of these awards shows so pay close attention because I have some rules that it's about time I shared the rules of singers & musicians so pay close attention.
Rule 1: Stop showing off! Okay now I can't stress this enough because if there's one thing these singers do is they show off their octave instead of singing the song. (They scream & they take too long.) But overall sing the sing its about the music not so much your voice.
Rule 2: Don't over do the wardrobe: Okay I've seen a lot of these singers overdo the wardrobe what with jewelry & furs & sequins first off this isn't "The Pimp Awards" So either keep it dressy or casual. Don't make the performance about your costume or outfit. Image is nothing.
Rule 3: Stop showing your pipes (Literally!) I've seen most singers do this a lot. When they sing they really open up their mouth a little too wide Okay unless your doctor is in the audience quit showing off your tonsils or the rest of your gullet that's kind of gross & most of all save the lozenges for AFTER the show please?
Rule 4: Bring a few people with you. Once again on award shows you've seen how they bring a whole mess of people in their entourage well no disrespect but keep it to a minimum of family & friends it doesn't take that many people to accept an award. Its not a buffet & its not a funeral or a wedding. Don't bring like 50 or 60 people with you half of them probably don't know you anyway.
Rule 5: Know the words. To all you singers out there when singing a song it helps to ACTUALLY know the words to the song quit mumbling & sing it.
Its okay to mess up but not when you're live.
Rule 6: STOP LIP SYNCING! I've seen enough live shows & concert to know that some of these singers are faking it what with auto tune so unless you guys want to goes found out or lose your fans stop lip syncing just because you can't really sing doesn't mean you should cheat.
Rule 7: How you sing. Okay another thing sing from your diaphragm & your guts not so much your throat or your nose I've noticed a lot of these singers doing that. This is why most of them don't have much of a voice to work with after a while.
Rule 8: Know what you're doing. I can't tell you how many shows I've seen where there are singers or musicians that really don't know what they're doing when it comes to performing, Don't be about the fame but rather about having fun & the music.
So anyway that's all I have to say regarding some of you so called singers out there. Be about the music & not about your voice so much or your image. This is all coming from a DJ so listen good. Music isn't about groupies, Fame, The spotlight or anything else. If anything it should be about self expression & showing people what you can do with your own talent. Not trying to be someone you aren't just so you can win something.
So instead of trying to be about having ties to anyone famous how about being yourself & most of all have fun with the music. Its born to be free.
(Verse 1)
I am the person that you thought
would never really
ammount to anything.
The girl you picked on
& turned away.
But now here I stand
back with a vengence to make you pay.
You've done nothing but either
torment me that or get rid of me
By leaving me behind.
The problem with that
I only wanted one thing
For you to respect me
Despite me being partially blind.
(Chorus)
I am the girl that you slammed
& straight dissed. The same
girl that you rather not
miss. The same person
deemed as unruly & wild
I am the Specter child!
(Verse 2)
I am the person you'd rather forget
I stand walking with many regrets
Because you want to decieve
Now I have no one to believe.
It's all because of you that I was
able to set my darkside free.
I keep asking if things
are even meant to be.
Too bad we all can't
be as privilledged as you. & thanks to you
I have a near broken soul so feel my fear
for its the day you'll soon rue.
Hey there one & all its your old pal DJ Dizzy here & its that time where I do a review.
This one involves the Grammys which I had the pleasure of watching last month
well lets begin. For one the hip hop category was on fire this year what with Kendrick Lamar taking home some wins &11 awards. But there were some good performances though. Including a share of tributes such as Lionel Richie & David Bowie. Now my thoughts on that would be only this: WTF?!! Okay how're you going to do a tribute to David Bowie & not do anything for Natalie Cole? Though I enjoyed when they showed her singing that duet with her dad but other than that they could've done a little more for her like have another singer do one of her songs. That right there was not only a snub but also a slap to the face. That's just as bad as what they did to Farrah Fawcett when she passed on. (They didn't pay tribute to her at the Oscars for those who don't remember.) But anyway there was also a Broadway performance of Hamilton which was a first & it won an award & pf course Taylor Swift won Album of the year & for song of the year Yeah you guessed it Uptown Funk..
But the best part of the night neither Kanye nor Justin Bieber won (Thank Goodness)
But overall this years awards were pretty good compared to some of the ones in the past. So if anything this one gets a 7 from me.
So with that said here's the winning song of the year so get up & shake what you were born with.
Hey there one & all its your old friend DJ Dizzy here & I've been doing a whole mess of thinking about this for quite sometime & I'm sure that we've all had one or a couple of people make a huge impact on our lives. Sometimes its a friend or people you lease expect.
You sometimes wonder to yourself if you're good enough for them so what do we do? We put on airs by lying about who we are just so we can get their attention. (Who hasn't done that once or twice?) Sometimes we even do that to authority figures because we don't want to fail or get shot down.
So the question I ask is only this: When you get that person's attention is it worth it in the end fearing that they might leave you? Well lets hope so there's always going to be someone special in your life but its always going to be hard to see them change because they aren't that same person that you once knew but you also figure that part of them is still there or might be.
But you never forget the impact they made on you & sometimes you never forget that. But overall sometimes what you say to a person & how you treat them can impact them depending on how you do it.
Hello there once again DJ Dizzy here & last moth I had the pleasure of checking out a really rad event. That of the Martin Luther King Day Parade in Tulsa OK.
Now you think that such a thing wouldn't be happening especially in the wintertime. Now believe me when I say in the south the weather is (usually) warm. But this parade was really amazing you had so many people coming together & celebrating Dr. King's legacy & celebrating people of all different diversities uniting together. He proved that having a dream like that is possible. But for now we talk about what to expect:
Attractions: As the attractions go you'll see plenty of floats & many volunteers in costume as well as plenty of goodies aside from candies & many other treats. ( Unlike all of the other parades this one offers free pizza & donuts at the visitors tent.) But there's also drill & dance teams & of course a decent share of marching bands. Such as a band called Sonic Boom.
But if you happen to visit Oklahoma they may not have too much going on but there are some pretty decent events if you're lucky enough to stumble upon any. I happen to catch this parade on TV courtesy of their local station but it was pretty good. But back to Dr. King though he left the world way too soon his dream forever lives on for we have people uniting no matter what our differences might be. He proved that no matter what race or gender you are we all can make a difference & find some common ground though we still have far to go we're making it happen. So for that I say thank you Dr. Martin Luther King.
